Wagashi Store Window Display
Window display stickers/design for a fictional Wagashi (traditional Japanese sweets) shop.
Create an eye-catching window display that mixes traditional and modern. The shop wants to embrace its elegant heritage while appealing to a modern, younger female demographic, bringing a traditional art form to a new generation.
To start this project, I researched different kinds of Japanese Wagashi, as this was the store’s main product, and I felt needed to be incorporated into the design. While I was sketching, I thought it would be interesting to design a window that looked like people were sitting inside, enjoying the food. So I designed some female characters that fit the traditional themes of the brand while also reflecting the store’s ideal customer. Beautiful, sophisticated Japanese women. Implying that if you eat here, you are also a beautiful, sophisticated Japanese woman. The window is also dotted with the different types of Wagashi the store sells.
