I started this project looking at different landscape photography of the moors for inspiration. Some photos with these beautiful Heather patches really struck me. I wanted the cover to have a colour scheme with all the greens and purples. While researching other covers, I noticed that most of them used a tree in some way. I played around with designing my own tree and incorporating it into the landscape. However, I felt like it took away from my original idea to focus on the Yorkshire landscape. So, I pivoted and focused on creating a way to include Catherine’s into the landscape without taking away from the natural beauty. I chose a font with an elegant feel without being too flowery and found a more handwritten one for the author’s name.
